Special Days

Throughout the school year, we celebrate many special days at St. Joseph's, which the students thoroughly enjoy!
These special days include:

Friendship Fair Day
Run by our Student Representative Council (SRC) the children in each grade prepare stalls for Friendship Fair Day. The students prepare and run games stalls, such as lucky dip or 'soak the teacher', and the day is completely student organised and led- including the cleaning up afterwards! The money raised from this fun day goes towards supporting Ellie, our sponsored student from St. Jude's in Tanzania.

Lapathon
The much loved 'Lapathon' is an annual event, which takes place in Spring Street Park, where the students challenge themselves to run the most laps. The children love trying to beat their previous record, and whether through sponsorship or gold coin donation, they raise funds for a local charity. In 2018, gold coin donations were given to the St. Vincent De Paul Christmas Appeal.

Mother's Day/ Father's Day
Both special occasions are celebrated with a whole school liturgy and activities in the classrooms. The Parents and Friends Association run gift stalls, where students can purchase reasonably priced gifts for their loved ones.

Footy Colours Day
At the conclusion of Term 3 each year, the children participate in a footy colours day, with a variety of sporting activities led by our Year 6 students. A footy colours parade is also held at the beginning of the day- accompanied by team songs!

Book Week
The much loved Book Week is celebrated each year with a range of literary activities, and the all-important dress up parade! Students love to come to school dressed as their favourite book characters- as do the staff!
