Religious Education
Religious Education forms the central part of our school curriculum and is more than the lessons taught each day. We aim to provide a safe and secure place where all children are accepted and respected for who they are and to recognise God’s presence in their daily lives. We endeavour to show through our interactions with each other what it means to live a Christian life. We believe that children’s lived experiences of these Gospel values provide a basis on which to build a solid platform for all aspects of school life. At St. Joseph’s we invite and support students to come to understand themselves and the world in which they live through a Catholic worldview, and we are respectful and inclusive of the beliefs of all members of our community.
Sacramental Programs
Students in Grades 3 and 6 are in involved in programs for the sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation. The children are prepared for these programs during class time, and parents of students making the sacraments are expected to attend the family nights and commitment masses held in preparation for the Sacraments.
